 Hammered together around the millennium bug warning symbol in the intro that was copied from the inlay of a CD sent out by the U.K. government no less, Rollover was written to hail the start of the new millennium. Since T.M.R was relying on his "trusty" X1541 cable, of course it decided to die under mysterious circumstances two weeks before the demo was due to be released and no replacement was available, so the final product had to go out un-tested on a real machine to avoid missing the opportunity. The scrolltext on the intro features text written by as many Cosine members as could be found at the time; namely 4-Mat, Chancer, Kenz, Skywave, The Orb and Wile E. Coyote.
Trivia: Rollover was a first for Cosine in one respect; it was the first production released where the code was written almost totally in an emulator rather than with a real Commodore 64. The majority of the programming was done on the Windows 95-based computer in the office where T.M.R was working at that time, quite a lot of it whilst he should have actually been working! |
