A new year has properly begun and, after the series was resurrected for a second "season" at the start of January with MD201701 for the Atari 8-bit series, here's a shiny new monthly demo from T.M.R which does... something he previously did some eighteen months ago with MD201509 but this time handled a little differently and using an excellent piece of music from Odie!
The main effect covers less of the screen this time, but is also dealing with two colour values per byte rather than merely one which means it still requires the majority of the available processing power to update that smaller space. The FLI routine has also been tweaked a little in order to tilt the effect over because that seemed like a fun idea at the time.
Trivia: The character set was extracted from the Sega Master System game Ninja Gaiden and music, originally used on the C64DTV2 release Blok Copy, is courtesy of Odie. |
