ImageWire is a simple Windows-based tool for converting pictures on a Windows-based PC; it can produce either "classic" un-dithered images (similar to those produced by the first C64 hardware-based digitisers) or there is an option of a simple dither that greatly improves the final output. Files are saved in Koalapainter format as PRG files.
This converter is at it's best with hand-drawn images, although it can do a reasonable job on a rendered picture and sometimes manages to be passable with photographs depending on the source image. There is no image scaler in V1.0 so the source must already be scaled 320 by 200 pixels.
Requirements: ImageWire needs a Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP PC with DirectX 8 installed, a minimum of 16Mb of RAM and 1.2Mb of hard disk space (with the example files) when unzipped. |
