Commodore 64

4K Graphx was, along with 4K Party 2 and 4K Audial, an entry into the graphics category of the second Driven 4K compo in 1997 where it managed to take the second place. This release should be treated more as a technical exercise than anything else; T.M.R's intention was to cram a reasonably detailed FLI picture into a 4K compressed space. This was done by manually optimising the picture down into four by eight pixel blocks and recreating the missing data when the program executes to restore the full image.

Trivia: The FLI picture viewer doesn't work on the more common 65 cycle NTSC VIC-II chip but is happy on PAL and 64 cycle NTSC because it was timed "blind" on a PAL machine. Not all of Driven's competition judges could actually see the image so the scores were averaged from those who could.
